Recapping Sunday

Trying to get back into the routine of updating the site routinely. One of the things I'll be doing on a regular basis is posting a setlist/recap of our Sunday services at Crosspoint. Hopefully this will be informative/helpful for some of you out there who are involved in the worship planning process at your churches. Feel free to comment and recap your Sunday and share some ideas.

This Sunday we started a new series called OneLife. The big idea behind this series is to encourage people to use this "one life" that we've each been given to invest in the things that really matter to build the Kingdom. Today we looked at what it means to be involved in the lives of those around us, making the most of the opportunities we have to be Christ to the people that we interact with every day.

During a time of response after the message, the band went old-school 90's and pulled out a tune by the Normals called "Everything (apron full of stains)", a great song about making the most of every opportunity and encounter we are given. While the band played, we rolled an original video with some great images that really helped to communicate the story of this song. Pulling this off was definitely a highlight for us today...even though I botched up the words to the 3rd verse in the 2nd service... =)

Besides Digital Performer freaking out during 1st service and refusing to play back all our sequenced tracks (and some of our count-offs...), it was a great day from a production standpoint (which is always challenging for a mobile church). And the worship team did a great job of setting the stage for the message and providing an opportunity for our people to worship through song today. All in all a great Sunday.
