surprise, surprise

It is so distressing, and at the same time, so exhilirating, to be in the pressure-cooker kind of situations that God brings into my life when I least expect them. God is so good about working in our lives through circumstances and responsibilities that we can't possibly handle without Him. It's His typical M.O. as you read the scriptures; take an ordinary person, place a huge obstacle/undertaking in their path, watch them struggle with it, wait for them to give up and turn to him in surrender and obedience... and you know the rest. I believe He uses these to conform us (sometimes painfully) to Christ-likeness. While I believe this, I certainly do not always recognize these situations for the blessings that they are; for the minor 'sufferings' that produce the results of perseverance in me and glory for God. Well, THEO 250 is 20 minutes away. TTFN!!

1 Peter 4:19: Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.

1 Peter 2:20: For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. 21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,

Suffering is the vehicle most used by God for our growth (only because we won't listen to the Scriptures the first time).
